Student Benefits



As a BPA student employee:
  • You gain hands-on work experience that expands your academic studies.
  • You have the opportunity of a flexible work schedule that allows you to earn money while going to school.
  • You earn vacation and sick days based on the number of hours you work.
  • You have access to on-site fitness facilities (BPA helps pay enrollment and user fees).
  • You can save money using BPA’s subsidized public transportation program.
  • You provide a public service to your community and your country.

Student Trainees (or co-ops) employed under the Student Career Experience are also eligible for:
  • All federal employees benefits, such as health and life insurance, retirement benefits, etc., and are pro-rated based on the hours worked when working a part-time schedule.
  • Tuition assistance at management’s discretion to pay all or part of your work related educational expenses.
  • Student loan reimbursement at management’s discretion up to $10,000 per year and not to exceed a maximum of $60,000. In return, you must agree to remain with BPA for at least 3 years.

And best of all
  • It is BPA's intent to offer permanent full time employment to Student Trainees upon successful completion of their education program and successful performance during their Student Trainee employment.
